The Reading RoomUnder Construction!

These writings were selected from the many encountered on my path as I endeavored to understand the nature of reality and how to live a full and adventurous life. They can light the way to mental knowledge and wisdom, bodily health and vibrancy, and spiritual laws and attributes that lead to the possibilities of  communing with pure consciousness–God, the Higher Power.

I have entered the below list in the order of recommend study.

Primary

The Religions of Man by Huston Smiths. I believed it important to understand the major religions; I discovered there were core concepts that were nearly identical across the board.

Looking Out For # 1 by Robert J. Ringer. Ideas and viewpoints to guide one to an exciting and rewarding life journey.

The Road Less Traveled by M. Scott Peck, M.D. (“A New Psychology of Love, Traditional Values and Spiritual Growth”).

The Ten Commandments by Emmet Fox. A revered spiritual teacher recites the background behind these important Christian principles and their hermeneutic interpretation.

The Sermon on the Mount by Emmet Fox. A hermeneutic review of Christ’s teachings revolving around the discernment of the truth, a scale of values for living life, and a dissection of meaning within the “Lord’s Prayer”.

The Science of Kriya Yoga by Roy Eugene Davis. (“A Verse by Verse Rendering of the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, with detailed commentary and specific instructions for experiencing meditation and superconsciousness”). “Kriya Yoga is the ancient yogic procedure of cleansing the mental field and refining the nervous system so that the reality of the soul an be effortlessly revealed.” The Yoga Sutras are considered the manual of this teaching.

The Path of Soul Liberation by Roy Eugene Davis. Discernment (explanations) of the renowned philosopher-seer, Shankara’s, work on teaching that One Essence manifests as the total world-process. The work is considered one of the clearest views of the teaching.

Lectures on Yoga by Swami Rama. An overview and explanation of the philosophy of Yoga and its major schools of interpretation.

The Edgar Cayce Primer by Dr. Herbert B. Puryear. The author presents a simplified explanation of the issues and philosophy underpinning the Edgar Cayce readings; Cayce is considered the most famous American “seer”. In my view, Cayce’s responses to persons he assisted in his life are clear examples of a metaphysical gift and give readers insights into the truth about “the other side.”

Ramtha edited by Steven Lee Weinberg, PhD, with Randall Weischedel, Sue Ann Fazio and Carol Wright. In my view, Ramtha’s works/ministry are an example by demonstration of a metaphysical gift-in this case the channeling of information from “the other side”. This book represents a consolidation of the channeled person’s perceptions (Ramtha’s) about God and the nature of reality.

Secondary
